The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme ( NatHERS ) is a star rating system that rates the thermal comfort and energy efficiency of a home, based on its design.

A thermal assessment is required for all new dwellings seeking development approval.

 

The aim of a thermal assessment is to ensure new dwellings provide sufficient levels of thermal comfort for occupants in the most energy efficient manner.

 

For simple dwellings,  we can conduct a thermal assessment using the Building Sustainability Index tool ( BASIX )

For more complex or multi-dwellings, NatHERS approved software is used to simulate thermal comfort and predict heating and cooling energy requirements.

Prudence has been an accredited NatHERS Assessor since 2010 and applies her technical knowledge of thermal comfort + energy efficiency to her own projects, as well as working with other Architects, Building Designers and clients to achieve their desired thermal performance levels and energy efficiency ratings.
